Want to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
We are the premiere No Gi in AZ! Our No Gi BJJ classes are taught by Professor Scott Tannenbaum, a 5th degree Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under world renowned competitor and instructor Rigan Machado (8th degree black belt). Scott also holds a 3rd degree black belt in Aikido and a 1st degree in Japanese Jiu-Jitsu.
Our students have the opportunity to be promoted and recognized under four Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu governing associations. TNT BJJ Federation, WBJJO (World Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Organization, Rigan Machado Association, and IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation).
Our primary focus is on No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a more realistic application for both self-defense and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). With the evolution of BJJ over the past several years along with the rise in popularity of MMA the No Gi aspect has grown tremendously with practitioners realizing that in modern society MMA fighters and potential attackers on the street will not be wearing a Gi, so relying on the multiple grips and submissions that are only possible with a heavy jacket can be very detrimental when faced with a real life attack.
Professor Scott’s lineage and background permits us the ability to promote students in both Gi and No Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Students have the opportunity to learn all aspects of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu including: Submissions, Judo, Wrestling, standing escapes and weapon defense.
